Why Choose Local?

Having the option to purchase locally grown foods has many benefits for you and your community.
Full of flavor. The reason, because it is hand picked at peak ripeness just for you. It isn't harvested early to be kept longer by wholesalers.
More nutrients. It's true! Local foods are fresh and have a shorter time between harvest and your table.
Good for the environment. Purchasing local helps to maintain our farmlands.
Food safety.  Food grown and sold locally has less chance for contamination when compared to food harvested, cleaned, and distributed from far away.
Eat seasonally. I know we all wish tomatoes and strawberries tasted the same in the winter but they don't. When you buy local you buy what's in season, what's fresh, and they are full of flavor.
Supporting the local economy.  Buying local means supporting Southern Indiana families, our neighbors, and friends.
Know what you are eating. When you purchase from a local farmer you get to ask questions about their processes and know exactly what you are putting in your body.
